The ELDDS team of Unity Secondary School lights up the stage and the debating floor with their flair for theatre and eloquence and poise in public speaking.

In 2007, the ELDDS team garnered the bronze medal for putting up a play focusing on psychological issues during the SYF Drama Competition. The ELDDS is also top at debating - managing to score a spot at Quarter Finals in Division II with all our debators being top 20 among 75 competitors.

For this first time in 2008, Unity Secondary also sent in two teams to the Odyssey of the Mind drama competition held at ACS(i). Teams managed to obtain 9th place for Division II (The Eccentrics) and and 5th place for Division III (Dino Stories).

Things to look out for include Public Speaking workshops with Claire Devine, Acting workshops with Mrs Dew Chaiyanara and Debate Sessions with Mr Wong Pixian, drama and debate competitions, National Litfest, attending public performances and plays and more. ELDDS team members have also spent time on community service projects - reading and performing for the folks at the Red Cross Home for the Disabled at Hillview Avenue.

Other activities include annual camps - a day camp during the June School Break and an overnight camp during the November School Break. This year, the ELDDS camp will be held in collaboration with Red Cross, the Dance group and NPCC for a more fun-filled, action-packed meaningful celebration of team-work and team-spirit around a campfire. Definitely something to look forward to.
